Karu (Nasarawa State) – The Nasarawa State Government on Friday reinstated its commitment to complete the construction of Mararaba/Aso/Gurku roads soon to reduce the regular gridlocks.
Mr Hassan Ogbole, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Gov. Tanko Al-Makura on Urban Development Control made the commitment while speaking in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Karu.
He said that the completion of the project would bring the necessarily respite to motorists and other users of the roads.
“The completion of the project will as well boost the socio-economic activities of the people of the area.
“Every body in the state has seen what Al-Makura’s administration has done since his inception as governor, especially in the area of roads construction.
“The initiatives are simply aimed at boosting transportation system as well as boosting the socio-economic development of the state,’’ he said.

He said that the state government was committed to completing the project without delay.
“The governor has prioritised this because of its potential to opening up the state for further development.
“The importance of any government in embarking on the construction of roads cannot be over-emphasised.
“The residents of Mararaba/Aso/Gurku should count themselves lucky as the state government has done its best for them by awarding the contract for the construction of the road despite competing projects.
“The government will soon put smiles on their faces by completing the project.’’
According to him, the state government decides to embark on road network construction across the state in order to fight poverty, youth restiveness, unemployment as well as crimes and other related vices.
The SSA, therefore, urged the residents of the area not to relent in their efforts toward contributing their quota to ensure clean environment.
“We must remain resolute on the need to maintain good sanitation by always avoiding indiscriminate dumping of refuses along the Keffi/Karu Highway,’’ he said.
Also, Ogbole reinstated the administration’s commitment to initiate more people oriented projects for the enjoyment of all. (NAN)
