Abuja (Sundiata Post) – In Africa, NASCO Foods is helping to boost food security by building strong agricultural value chains and supporting farmers to enhance their livelihoods, reports says.

This is made possible through its dedication and commitment to enhancing the quality of life of families and individuals, contributing to their healthier future, the Group Corporate Communication and Compliance Advisor, NASCO Group Nigeria, Haroun Harry Audu said in one of our previous interviews.

Food security and rural development are central to fulfilling NASCO’s ambition”, Audu had said.

Recall that the world health organization, has said about 98 per cent of food safety burden comes from underdeveloped nations, with Africa reporting deaths and hospital admissions related to food safety issues.

To address these challenges, a holistic approach is required, involving multiple stakeholders starting with food and beverages companies, WHO had opined in one of its statements in rolling out plans to address the challenge.

NASCO, however, moving to mitigate the gap, said it is committed to ensuring safety of its products across Africa.

It said one of its strategies is to work with farmers to ensure sustainable and safe agricultural practice.

“We audit suppliers to ensure compliance with food safety standards”, the company’s Advisor said.

“At NASCO, safety and quality are paramount. Every product must meet the highest standards of safety from farm to table.

“By working with farmers and suppliers, rigorous testing, and improving processes, we are committed to providing consumers with safe, nutritious and high-quality food.

‘‘Once raw materials reach the company’s manufacturing facilities, they undergo strict quality checks. Advanced technologies are utilized to detect and eliminate contaminants.

‘‘The company invests in training, fostering a culture of food safety and vigilance.

“By maintaining transparency through clear labeling and communication, the company empowers customers to make informed decisions and choices.

“NASCO invests in research, through advancements and collaboration with industry experts, it responds to threats and ensures product safety”, Audu had said in several interviews conducted with newsmen.
