ABUJA (Sundiata Post) – President Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday night met with the aggrieved group of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the House of Representatives. The meeting was brokered by Senator Abu Ibrahim from Katsina State
The lawmakers were led to the meeting held inside the Conference Hall of the wife of the President by Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.
Gbajabiamila led 29 other lawmakers loyal to him to the meeting which started at about 9.55pm with the arrival of the President and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Those who attended were drawn from all the six geo-political zones.
The lawmakers were conveyed to the venue in two white Coaster buses.
Ibrahim introduced Gbajabiamila and his group when State House correspondents were asked to excuse them.
The meeting was still ongoing at the time of filing this report at 10:15pm.
The meeting was part of efforts aimed at resolving the leadership crisis rocking the two chambers of the National Assembly.
Gbajabiamila was APC’s choice for the post of the Speaker before Yakubu Dogara was elected.
It will be recalled that Buhari had also last weekend met with Senator Ahmed Lawan and some members loyal to him in the Senate.
Lawan was also the party’s choice for the position of the President of the Senate before Bukola Saraki was elected.
