Lagos –   The Chairman, Nassarawa United FC of Lafia, Isaac Danladi, says the club won’t disappoint its fans when the second stanza of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) kicks off.

Danladi, who made the promise in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Lagos, said the club would sustain its tempo in the first stanza.

The club popularly called the “Solid Miners’’ are currently on the ninth position on the NPFL log with 27 points from 19 matches played.

“By this time last season, we were on the 16th position and we finished third on the league.

“We are on the ninth position, which is an improvement from last season, and we don’t intend to let our fans down at this point in time.

“Our focus is to ensure that we don’t lose focus and to ensure that our players are in tune with the aims of the club,’’ he said.

Danladi told NAN that the League Management Company (LMC) should not relent on its efforts towards ensuring that players salaries were paid as when due.

“There are still cases of unpaid salaries; the LMC still needs to look into it to ensure that the players’ welfare is not neglected to the detriment of the league’s development.

“Also, the withdrawal of title sponsors should be addressed, we can’t continue to fold our hands and wait for miracle.

“We need to be proactive, the league is getting better by the day which is commendable but we still hope to attract a sponsors soon,’’ Danladi said.
