National Deaf Football coach invites 30 players to camp

LAGOS – Kamiludeen Oladimeji, Head the National Deaf Team Wednesday said 30 players had been invited to in preparation for the 4th West African Championship.

The championship is billed to hold Aug. 1 to Aug. 14 in Togo.

Oladimeji told the News Agency Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos the would commence in the week July at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

He added the ought to have commenced before , but lack of funds responsible for the delay.

“For , we have invited 30 players and they are expected to resume camping next month in Lagos.

“We proposed to resume camp earlier before , but we were unable to raise funds to commence preparation time,’’ Oladimeji said.

According to the , the country had won the three previous editions of the .

Oladimeji noted that the team could also retain the title for the fourth time, if given the needed support and encouragement to excel.

“It will be remarkable to win the fourth edition of the but the only way is to prepare well and also get support that would motivate the team,’’ the said.

Oladimeji appealed to private bodies and influential Nigerians to identify the team by supporting it. (NAN)
