Navy chief seeks loyalty, support of personnel for Buhari

Onne (Rivers) – The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ette Ibas, on Friday pleaded for the unflinching loyalty and support of service personnel for President Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking at the passing out ceremony and commissioning of 25 Special Duty Commission Cadets at the Nigerian Navy College, Onne in Rivers, Ibas said that such loyalty was needed for security operations in the country.

“It is very important for personnel to exhibit total and unflinching loyalty to the nation, service and the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“This unflinching loyalty will engender harmonious relationships and impact positively on the nation’s development drive and the society at large,” he said.

Ibas said that efforts were underway to provide weaponry, infrastructure and other facilities in training schools and colleges to enhance the quality of training and retraining of personnel.

He said his administration would give priority to the welfare and wellbeing of personnel with the aim of motivating the officers and ratings for security operations.

The navy chief urged the 25 newly commissioned cadets to maintain the tenets of civil-military cooperation and standard, adding that discipline, hard work and commitment must be the watchword of the cadets. (NAN)
