NAWOJ donates relief materials fire victims at Govt. Girls’ College, Sokoto.

SOKOTO – The Sokoto state chapter of the National Association of Women Journalists ( NAWOJ) on Saturday donated relief materials to the 63 victims of a recent fire incident at Government Girls’ College, Sokoto.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the items donated by the association included notebooks, pens and clothing materials.
Handing over the items to the Principal of the college, Dr Fatima Musa, the Chairperson of NAWOJ in the state, Hajya A’isha Maina, said the gesture was the association’s contribution towards alleviating the plight of the victims.
Maina described the inferno at the school as an “act of God” and expressed happiness that no life was lost in the incident.
She advised the school authorities to take measures to avert recurrence of such incident.
Receiving the items, the principal commended the association for the gesture and urged others, including organizations and individuals in the state, to emulate it. (NAN)
