ABUJA – The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr Augustine Alegeh, on Tuesday said that the association would review its constitution to allow for e-voting system for future elections.
Alegeh said at the inauguration of NBA Constitution Review Committee in Abuja that the review would address the current realities and also alleviate the suffering encountered by members during National elections.
The NBA president, who is a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), maintained that the amendment would enable NBA’s constitution to meet up with current challenges.
He expressed the hope that the introduction of e-voting system would address the challenge.
Alegeh said the cost of conducting NBA`s national elections was high and unsustainable, adding that the risk, dangers and inconvenience encounter by members during election were becoming unbearable.
“Lodging is becoming too expensive to NBA members, particularly when delegates are not provided with the accommodations and other logistics needed.
