LAGOS – Olubusoye Ayodeji, a former Acting Manager at Nigeria Bottling Company, Apapa, was on Thursday charged with stealing the company’s N62. 7 million at an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
Ayodeji, 40, is facing charges of conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Insp. Richard Odigie, had told the court that the accused committed the offences between June 2011 and 2014 at the company’s office at Iddo.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
He alleged that the accused, who was the Acting Plant/Logistics Manager, stole the sum of N62.7million.
The offences contravened Sections 285(7) and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, entered a plea of `not guilty’.
In her ruling, the Chief Magistrate, Mrs A.O. Adelaja, granted the accused bail in the sum of N2 million with two sureties in like sum.
She said that the sureties must provide evidence means of livelihood and tax payment.
The case has been adjourned to May 6 for mention. (NAN)
