Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control Wednesday confirmed 179 fresh cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria.
According to the report released by the health agency via it’s twitter handle, Lagos State, the epicentre of the novel virus infection in the country accounted for 116 of the cases followed by Anambra with 20 infections.
Apart from FCT, Oyo and Rivers states which recorded 9 cases each; Delta and Nasarawa states both raked in raked in 3 cases each.
Others are; Edo, Kaduna, Ogun and Plateau-2 each while Ekiti and Osun recorded 1 infection each.
The agency reported that total confirmed cases stand at 60,834 out of which 52,143 have been discharged.
It added that 1,116 lives have been lost to the COVID-19 related complications since the index case in February 27 in Nigeria.
