PORT HARCOURT – Mr Bassey Dan-Abia, the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), says the Governing Board of the commission is determined to actualise the Federal Government’s Transformation Agenda.
Dan-Abia said this in a statement issued on Saturday in Port Harcourt by NDDC’s Head of Corporate Affairs, Mr Ibitoye Abosede.
The statement quoted Dan-Abia as saying that the board would refocus the commission to serve the Niger Delta people better.
“The Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has taken another step in its ongoing efforts to reposition the interventionist agency as a vehicle for actualising the Federal Government’s Transformation Agenda,’’ he said.
Dan-Abia also said the board had approved a three-day retreat for members of the Governing Board, directors, deputy directors, special assistants, technical assistants and assistant directors.
He said the retreat would be held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, between March 12 and March 14.
Dan-Abia said the retreat with the theme, “ Refocusing the NDDC for Better Service Delivery,’’ would be declared open by the Chairman of NDDC Governing Board, Sen. Bassey Ewa-Henshaw.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim, would deliver a keynote address.
Those to speak at the forum include the Chairman, Senate Committee on Rules and Business, Sen. Ita Enang, and the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Alhaji Goni Aji. (NAN)
