NDE trains 50 Akwa Ibom youths on landscaping

Eket (Akwa Ibom) – The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Akwa Ibom said on Sunday that it was training 50 unemployed youths on environmental beautification under its empowerment programme.
The state NDE Coordinator, Mr Promise Eka, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Eket that the training, schedule to last for three months, was aimed at making the youths self reliant.
He said that the youths were undergoing training in landscaping technique, tree planting, nursery planting, horticulture, hard landscaping, soft landscaping, among others.
The state coordinator said the beneficiaries were selected from the 31 local government areas of the state.
Eka said that the directorate engaged reputable and experienced trainers in the state to handle the beneficiaries in the different aspects of the programme.

The coordinator restated the commitment of the directorate to train as many youths as possible to be self reliant and employer of labour in the state.
Eka advised the youths to be disciplined during the training in order to acquire the skills.
He called on the private sector and local government council to partner the directorate to train youths in the state so as to ensure their bright future. (NAN)
