ADO-EKITI – The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA) on Tuesday said it had destroyed 400 hectares of cannabis farm at Ise Ekiti, Ise Orun local government area of Ekiti.
The NDLEA Commander in the state, Mr Suleiman Jadi, told newsmen in Ado-Ekiti.
He said the agency discovered the farmland at a remote area located at Odofin camp, Ise Ekiti. [eap_ad_1] Jadi said six persons were arrested at the farm during raid by his men.
“The route to the farmland was very bad but we successfully get there and destroyed the whole farms, including the harvested cannabis.
“I have also instructed my men to monitor the burning of the farm to ensure that none of the villagers or farmers move closer to it.”
Jadi appealed to the state government and stakeholders to assist the agency with vehicles to enhance their operations.
The NDLEA commander warned indigenes of the state, who indulged in cultivating and selling cannabis, to desist from the acts or face the wrath of the law. (NAN)
