BIRNIN KEBBI – The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Friday said it had seized 124,642 kilogrammes of cannabis and arrested 67 suspects between January and May in Kebbi State.
The NDLEA Commander in the state, Mr Okon Ulo, disclosed this to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.
Ulo said that 20 of the suspects were convicted at the Federal High Court., Sokoto, while 35 drug users were counseled by the command.
He said that the agency had also arrested a man with a locally-made pistol and cartridge at Tsamiya village, Bagudo Local Government Area and handed him over to the police.
“The agency would embark on grassroots mobilisation in the state to raise public awareness on the dangers of drug abuse and trafficking.”
Ulo called on the general public to assist the agency with useful information that would lead to the arrest of drug users and traffickers.(NAN)
