Abuja – The Team Manger of Victor Ndoma-Egba Tennis team, Musa Daniel, on Tuesday said the team would win the 2017 edition of the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) League.
Daniel who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, said that despite featuring in the league for the first time, the team has all it takes to emerge champions.
“Looking at performances of teams in the league in the last two editions, we decided to take part, having the confidence that we will do well.
“My expectation is to win; I know that there are good teams in the league but as a manager, I will make sure that we coach our players till we conquer the competition”, he said.
Daniel said his confidence was based on the team having quality players and their high competitiveness level.
NAN reports that the NCC Tennis Championship is taking place in 13 different cities across Nigeria with Ibadan and Ilorin hosting ties this weekend.
Team Oluyole would host Team VGC Lions of Lagos at the Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan, while Team Optiwebb of Ilorin would take on Team Kalotari of Port Harcourt at the Kwara Stadium.
The championship, which has N7 million prize at stake, began in 2015.
