Yola – The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Tuesday recorded additional two marriages at the Internally Displaced Persons Camps (IDPs) in Yola, Adamawa.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the development came barely a week after the IDPs in Borno and Adamawa recorded a total of 187 marriages.
Malam Sani Datti, the NEMA’s spokesman, told NAN that the additional two marriages were registered at Fufore and Damare IDPs’ camps in Yola.
“The agency, on Dec. 4, recorded additional two marriages both in Yola Internally Displaced Persons camps in Adamawa.
“This brought the total marriages between the Internally Displaced Persons in the state to 89.”
According to him, both couples are indigenes of Borno from Gamboru-Ngala and Gwoza Local Government Areas.
“At Damare camp, the new couple, Ahmad Adamu, 30, popularly known as `geisha,’ married Hadiza Umar, 19, and both of them hailed from Gwoza.
“In Fufore camp, the bride’s father, Malam Abakar Njidda, gave his daughter A’isha, 20, in marriage to Groom’s father, Malam
Ahmadu Umar, who received her for his son, Sa’idu Ahmadu, 33, who is also from Gamboru-Ngala, Borno,” Datti said.

According to him, both couples are living happily in their respective camps. (NAN)
