NEPC Trains Sokoto Exporters On Exploring Opportunities, int’l Markets

\Sokoto, – The Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC), has commenced the training of exporters from Sokoto state on exploring business opportunities and available international markets.Mr Ahmad Sukaraiju-Yahaya, the Trade Promotion Adviser, Sokoto state NEPC office, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday that the training was part of its effort to promote non oil business.Sukaraiju-Yahaya said series of activities were meant to improve the capacity of the exporters as well as getting them prepared for the task ahead of them.He called on the participants to take advantage of the programme for their individual and group benefits, so as to grow in their respective businesses.According to him, the NEPC’s Managing Director, Mr Ezra Yaksuk, intensified drives on producing various modules of strategic exports, market access and standard compliance techniques.The Trade Adviser explained that such modules included market penetration strategies for exportable products and criteria to facilitate Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) access to export markets.Sukaraiju-Yahaya added that the outcome of export market access programmes had generated export orders and successful exports transactions.He called for more deployment of the model so as to benefit more exporters.Sukaraiju-Yahaya also said that the workshops were meant to strengthen the capacities of the exporters, with the necessary tools required to penetrate the international market.He expressed optimism that the effort would help in facilitating the volume and value of exports from Nigeria and increase foreign exchange earnings.
