Justice Kudirat Motonmori Olatokunbo Kekere-Ekun has been appointed as the new Chief Justice of Nigeria, taking over from the retiring Justice Olukayode Ariwoola.
Currently the second most senior justice on the Supreme Court, Justice Kekere-Ekun will be the second woman in Nigeria’s history to hold the position, following Justice Mariam Aloma Mukhtar, who served as CJN from 2012 to 2014.
