Kano – The newly-appointed Police Commissioner to Kano State, Mr Muhammad Katsina, has assumed duty with a call on officers and men of the command to shun corrupt practices.
This is contained in a statement signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Magaji Majiya, in Kano on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the new CP had also urged the personnel of the command to fear of God in all their undertakings.
It also quoted Katsina as having promised to enhance the welfare of personnel to boost their morale and productivity.

”The commissioner also pledged to establish pioneer welfare office in the PRO’s office of the command to look into the welfare of officers affected by sickness, accident or disaster,” the statement said.
It added that the police boss called on the people of the state to extend to him the maximum support and cooperation they gave to his predecessors.
”This is necessary in order to bring down the rate of crime to the barest minimum.
”This will also ensure effective provision of adequate security in the state.(NAN)
