Hangzhou – A new international summit to discuss the conflict in Ukraine is being developed, France’s President, Francois Hollande, said on Monday.
Speaking after the first plenary at the G20 summit in Hangzhou, Hollande said, “We agreed to organise in the next few weeks a summit among Germany, France, Russia and Ukraine.
“In Ukraine, we need to continue the Minsk process and address current bottlenecks, including the implementation of the special status, the security situation and the lack of trust between the parties”.
Ukrainian troops have been fighting Russian-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine since 2014.
The most recent meeting which followed this so-called Normandy Format took place last year in Paris. (dpa/NAN)
