Abuja – The Nigeria Export Import Bank (NEXIM) said there was no ongoing illegal staff promotion or absorption in its operation.
The bank management, however, assured shareholders of its continued good corporate governance for effective delivery of its objectives.
Mr Chinedu Moghalu, Head of Communication, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in
Abuja.
NAN recalled that a group of persons accused the management of compiling 120 names to be absorbed into the bank without any form of interview or advertisement as required by law.
“ The Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM) remains committed to adhering to the highest standards of corporate governance and strict compliance with the Public Service Rules as applicable.
“It is evident that the allegation is completely false, unwarranted and needlessly intended to distract the staff and management from its day-to-day operations.
“The Executive Committee of the Bank (EXCO) had merely sent a standard notification to all staff informing them of the results of the appraisal exercise for 2013 and 2014.

`The process has been ongoing since the last quarter of 2015.
“The communication specifically informed staff members on individual performances and the eligibility for promotion or merit increment in line with section 5(4) of the Bank’s Staff Condition of Service,” he said.
Moghalu said the condition of service provided that staff promotion shall be effected as reward for satisfactory performance either through examination or interview.
He said that no such interview or examination had taken place and no promotion effected.
He urged its shareholders, stakeholders and members of the public to ignore the allegation.
He said that the bank would readily welcome any member of the media or other interested party keen to verify the allegations.(NAN)
