Abuja- Mohammed Sanusi, Director of Competitions of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), on Sunday in Abuja said Super Falcons’ participation in the 12-nation Cyprus Cup Invitational Tournament was uncertain.
Sanusi told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) it was unlikely the national senior female team would participate in the tournament because of the competitions ahead of the team.
“We are not sure the Super Falcons will be able to participate in the 12-nation invitational tournament in Cyprus because of the competitions ahead of the team.

“They have the qualifiers for the 2015 All-Africa Games (AAG) and the 2016 Olympic Games Football Tournament to play from March to May. So, it will not be easy for them,’’ Sanusi said.
NAN reports that the Cyprus Cup is a global invitational tournament for national women teams and the 2015 edition will hold from March 2 to March 12.
The NFA director of competitions added that the association would not want anything to alter the outlined preparations for the qualifying matches.
“We will not want anything to disrupt the preparations we have outlined for them ahead of these qualifying matches.
“So, we have not yet given the organisers our words on the Falcons’ participation or non-participation. But it is not likely they will be there,’’ Sanusi said.
NAN reports that the Super Falcons have been drawn to play the winners of the fixture involving Mali and Gabon in the second round of the AAG qualifiers.
