NFF leadership dismisses congress’s claims

mike umehThe Nigeria Football Federation [NFF] under the leadership of Mike Umeh has distanced itself from a pre-congress resolution passed by 26 delegates including state FA chairmen.
Acting president of the federation, Umeh, dismissed claims that an emergency congress of the NFF took place on Thursday.
“The NFF Executive Committee rose from its meeting of Wednesday, 30th July to say that the emergency Congress had been postponed, and duly apologized to members of the Congress, while stating that the Congress would hold at a later date.
“There was no Congress at all, and we urge Nigerians to ignore the so–called decisions contained in the document. A properly–constituted NFF Congress would be convoked at a date to be made known to the public soon,” Chief Mike Umeh, NFF Acting President, said in Abuja.[eap_ad_2]
“Whoever is instigating these persons does not love Nigeria and should be advised to stop.”
Supersport.com had earlier reported that 26 state FA chairmen including representatives of the Nigeria National League [NNL], Nigeria NationWide League [NNWL] and Nigeria Referees Association [NRA] agreed to reject the impeachment of former NFF president, Aminu Maigari.
As at Thursday afternoon, the number of signatories to the pre-NFF congress resolution had reached 30 out of the 44 delegates expected to attend. (supersport.com)[eap_ad_3]
