The Referee Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation on Tuesday announced the suspension of referee duo of John Charles and Ogunta Matador for the rest of the season owing to poor officiating.
John Charles and Ogunta Matador served as the centre and asisstant referee respectively in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League Week 4 clash between Sunshine Stars and Dolphins in Akure, which the hosts won 2-1.
Chairman of the NFF Referees Committee, Ahmed Fresh explained that the faulted referees were suspended for performing below officiating standard.
