Lagos – An NGO, the Young Progressive Nigerians Initiative (YPNI), has advised youths to embrace vocational skills and entrepreneurship to reduce unemployment and poverty in the country.
Its convener, Mr Adekunle Osibogun, who disclosed this to newsmen on Friday in Lagos said this would reduce those running after non-existing while-collar jobs.
“I encourage youths to take advantage of YPNI’s vocational training to learn one skill or the other, become self reliant and avoid looking for white-collar jobs,” he said.
Osibogun appealed to government to provide an enabling environment to support youths’ empowerment in the country.
He said that the NGO recently trained over 500 youths in Ogun in various vocational skills.
