MINNA – The Niger Government said it would curtail the expenditure of its local councils in the the 2015 fiscal year.
Alhaji Abdullahi Wuse, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, announced this on

Thursday in Minna.
He said that this was the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting held on Wednesday, adding [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]that it would be religiously adhered to.
Wuse, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Alhaji Mohammad Rijau, said that the Local Government Supervisory Department would carry out the assignment.
He said that the Council had also approved the budgetary allocation of N59.23 billion for the 25 councils.
Wuse said that the council would not embark on any new projects during the fiscal year, adding that existing projects would be completed. (NAN)
