Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Niger state government has called on solid minerals investors to come and harness the potential of large gold deposits across the local government areas in the state.
The chairman of Bosso local government, Architect Abubakar Suleiman Gomna stated this while speaking with newsmen in Minna the state capital.
Gonma who said the development of solid minerals is of great economic values to the nation, noted that illegal mining has been affecting it’s revenue capacity to both federal and State government.
Architect Abubakar Suleiman Gomna said the gold mining refinery established by the federal government has created more channels for exploration and that informed why his administration set up a committee to look into mining activities with the aim of monitoring illegal mining in the area.
The chairman added that sensitization has been carried out in the communities on the ways of modern mining.
He further explained on the efforts of pattering with security agencies in dealing with issues of illegal mining and criminality in the area.
