Nigeria better together than divided, says Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday tasked Nigerians to aspire for a united and prosperous country rather than pursuing divisive tendencies.

He said it was better country remained united notwithstanding the different ethnic nationalities.
Buhari, who gave the warning Daura, state while receiving representatives of Corps members deployed to the town that paid him Sallah homage at his residence, also threw his weight behind the National Service Corps (NYSC) scheme established by a former head of state, rtd General Yakubu Gowon, insisting the scheme had helped in promoting unity in Nigeria.

He said the diversity in the culture and ethnics of Nigeria had been strength for the growth and progress of the country.

According to him: “Not only the cultural differences, but also physical differences and this is what makes Nigeria. That is why I feel strong about NYSC and I will always wish you the best of luck. And I thank you for your service to the country.
“I assure you that, there is much better of a united Nigerian and rather than fell apart.”

The President later donated two bulls, 20 bags of and N1 to the Corps members.
