LAGOS – Mr Prince Cookey, the organiser of “Nigeria ICT Festival 2014’’ said the festival was aimed at enhancing the performance of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) operators.
He said in a statement issued in Lagos on Sunday that the event, which would begin on October 30, served as a platform for ICT operators to assess the performance of the industry.
He said the theme of the festival — “Broadband: Part to Digital Future’’– captured the essence of the broadband initiative of the Federal Government. [eap_ad_1] According to him, the initiative will grow the ICT sector in the country via the application of broadband technology.
“During the festival, the ICT operators will be able to plan a roadmap for sustainable growth of the market in future,’’ the statement quoted Cookey as saying.
He also said that Dr Eugene Juwah, the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), would deliver the keynote address at the festival.
According him, Mr Lanre Ajayi, the President of Association of Telecommunication Companies of Nigeria (ATCON), would be one of the speakers during the event.
He said NCC, ATCON and some major players in the industry would exhibit their latest products during the festival. (NAN)
