IKEJA – The Publisher, Travel.com Publishing Ltd., Mr Simon Tumba, on Tuesday called for publications that would build a virile travel industry in Nigeria.
Tumba made the call at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, during the unveiling of his new online publication: www.nigeriatravelsmart.com.
He said that Nigeria needed publications that would insist on best practices in the industry.
The publisher said that such publications should task airline operators and policy makers to promote best standards for facilitated development of the industry.
He said that his online publication was designed to intimate air travellers and the general public on current events and trends in the aviation, hospitality and tourism industry.
He added that the publication would do its best to promote best standards and help to build a travel industry that would be the pride of all aviation stakeholders.
According to him, the online publication will persuade service providers and policy makers to meet global standards.
Mr Christophe Pennick, the Managing Director of the Bi-Courtney Aviation Service, said at the event that Nigeria had been in need of a platform, where Nigerians and visitors would access aviation information regularly.
Pennick said that Bi-Courtney would be ever ready to render necessary assistance to the publishing outfit.
“This initiative should offer a push to decision makers by helping them to institute policies that will help the sector to attain its full potential,” he said.
He said that the huge potential of the aviation sector had yet to be exploited. (NAN)
