Abuja (Sundiata Post) – As #NigeriaDecides today, there is a heavy presence of international observers on ground in Kwara State for the ongoing Presidential and National Assembly election in the state.
As at 9am this morning, observers from the NDI, IRI, European Union and the United Kingdom, amongst others, could be seen patrolling polling units in the State.
According to a statement signed by the Special Assistant on New Media to the Senate President, Olu Onemola, made available to Sundiata Post, “Many of the observers have confirmed that their interest in the State stems from the fact that this is the home state of Nigeria’s Number 3 Citizen, Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, who also serves as the Director General of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council.
Sundiata Post recalls that the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki shortly after casting his vote at his polling unit in Kwara State complained of late arrival of the staff of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
