Nigerian comedy legend, Baba Suwe, is dead, aged 63

A luminous epoch in theatre practice ended somewhat suddenly on Monday, November 22, 2021 with the death of Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe.

He was aged 63.

On August 22, 2020, Baba Suwe had taken various media platforms to debunk rumours then doing the rounds of his death.

Coincidentally, in what appeared be his connection with day 22 of the months, the actor, who was born on August 22, 1958, lost the battle of life on November 22, 2021.

The prolific actor died from a protracted illness.

Details about the nature of ailment had yet be released as of the time of publication of this report.

Baba Suwe was married comedienne Omoladun Omidina, who died in September 2009.

Baba Suwe dominated the movie industry for decades, featured in several movies and bagged many awards.

“The legend is gone, he left today be in a place of rest”, DAILY POST quoted a source to have said in of sundry media reports about Baba Suwe’ transition.

The said that the Theatre Arts and Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) would issue a statement soon.
