elections to its personnel, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
The code of conduct is issued according the directive by the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin.
A Correspondent of NAN who saw a copy of the code reports that it was aimed at educating the naval personnel on the do’s and don’ts as an officer during the elections.
The code of conduct stipulates that officers must not carry any offensive weapon to polling booths.
“Officers must not conduct themselves in an unruly manner, they must not disobey any lawful order of the presiding officer,’’ it says.
It also warned the officers not to escort or provide any means of protection to election officials and materials without the authority of the commanding officer.
“You must not be in possession of more than one registration card; you must not distribute or display any election material in the ship,’’ it adds.
NAN also reports that the Nigerian Navy Ship “Centenary’’ is to arrive in the country later this week from China. (NAN)
