Nigerian telcos block access to Twitter following FG’s order

ABUJA – Telecommunication in have blocked access to Twitter after the slammed an indefinite ban on the social platform on Friday.
The telcos, the aegis of the of LicensedTelecoms of () said there has been a directive from the Nigerian Communications Commission () to block Nigerians from accessing the platform.
A statement jointly signed by Chairman and Executive Secretary, Gbenga Adebayo and Gbolahan Awonuga confirmed this.

“We, the of Licensed Telecommunication of () wish to confirm that our have received formal instructions from the Nigerian Communications Commission (), the industry regulator to suspend access to Twitter,” ALTON said in the statement.
