Abuja – The mind of the Nigerian youth has to be restructured in order for him to create a better future for himself, Rev. Father Emekannemeka Ezenwaka of Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja says.
Ezenwaka told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja that restructuring the youth’s mind would lead to his being dragged away from negative thoughts and acts.
“Such a restructuring is necessary because the modern-day youth needs to be positive at all times in order to excel and be in tune with his God,’’ he said.
The Reverend Father spoke in relation to the presentation of his new book in the 24 Plus Series Volume 2, titled “Restructuring the Mind of the Youths….Romans 12:3’’.
NAN reports that the 24-chapter book defines what the youths are, what they require and their challenges.
Ezenwaka said he was motivated into writing the book by his childhood and growth into adulthood.
“I have a passion for the young people, and this is manifested in my involvement in football. While growing up, I learnt a lot and I now know that the average youth needs humility to be able to derive that necessary breakthrough.
“Through this, the youth will develop good principles which will lead him to good thinking at all times,’’ he said.
Jude Stephen, a book reviewer, said every youth needs to make good use of the book, adding that it was put together by a man with a vision for the youths.
“We are in a situation where we are facing serious and abject poverty which demands that the Nigerian youth must now think out of the box. I recommend that every youth must obtain a copy of the book.’’
Speaking also, Chief Edmund Okafor, the CEO of Edinho Nigeria Limited in Abuja, said the book was well put together to give the Nigerian youth a better future.
“It is not easy to serve God for 14 years in the way Rev. Father Ezenwaka has done. God has also been very good to him, when you go back to think about the surgery he had.
“But his experiences, as well as knowledge, have been put into use here in the book for the Nigerian youths to utilise,’’ he said.(NAN)
