Abuja – The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted morning thunderstorms over Abuja, Bauchi, Mambila plateau, and Makurdi with localised thunderstorms expected over the entire region in the afternoon on Friday.
NiMet disclosed this in a Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office (CFO) on Thursday in Abuja.
It explained that the central states would have day and night temperatures of between 26 to 30 and 16 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
The agency further predicted that the northern states would experience localised thunderstorms over Sokoto, Nguru and parts of Borno in the morning.
It also predicted that in the afternoon, Sokoto axis would be expected to be cloudy while Maiduguri, Nguru and its environs would be expected experience thunderstorms.
It said that apart from the thunderstorms over the region in the afternoon, the day and night temperatures would be 29 to 30 and 21 to 25 degree Celsius.
According to NiMet, there will be localised rains in the morning over the inland of the South-West while the South-East has prospect of isolated rain in the morning with isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon.
It also predicted that the coast would be expected to be cloudy with prospect of rains in the afternoon with day and night temperatures of 27 to 30 degree Celsius and 21 to 24 degree Celsius respectively.
