Abuja- Mr Ibrahim Auta, Comptroller of Immigration, FCT Command, said the service had deployed over 300 personnel to work with other security agencies during the ongoing elections.
Auta said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Saturday.
Auta said the operatives had been assigned to various polling units along with their counterparts from other security agencies.
“ You know that the deployment of security personnel for the election is a contribution of different security agencies including the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Customs Service, the Federal Fire Service and the Nigeria Prisons Service.

“Other agencies include: The Nigeria Police, Military, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC),” he said.
The comptroller said the personnel were deployed from various Area Commands to the polling units under the jurisdiction of the command.
He also said that in spite of the police ban on hawking within and around polling units, some persons had been arrested at polling centres in Garki, selling sachet water. (NAN)
