Kano – The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Kano State Chapter, has called on the state government to take appropriate steps to ensure the completion of the ongoing biometric screening as soon as possible.
This is contained in a statement signed by the NLC Chairman, Mr Kabiru Minjibir, in Kano on Friday.
According to him, the call is necessary in order to allow workers in the state to have peace of mind in the discharge of their respective official obligations.
“We would like to use this opportunity to sympathise and identify with the workers, pensioners and the general public that are depressed by the current hardship caused by the Biometric screening and the economic challenges nationwide,” he said.
Minjibir also called on the government at all levels to provide appropriate remedy in the interest of peace and stability.
He also called on workers to remain committed, punctual in service and commence prayers for economic growth and development in the country.
“We assure workers, pensioners and all labour stakeholders in the state that the congress will remain committed in its struggle for the emancipation of the working class at all times”.
The NLC chairman felicitated with the state government, House of Assembly, Kano Emirate Council and the entire people of the state for the Eid-el Kabir celebration.
