ABUJA – The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) is scheduled to hold this year’s annual physicians’ week from Oct. 18 to Oct. 25, in Abuja.
This is contained in a statement jointly signed by the association’s President and Secretary-Geberal, Dr Kayode Obembe and Dr Adewunmi Alayaki, respectively.
A copy of the statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja said the week-long event would feature a symposium with a theme: War against Ebola.
The statement said that the programme also has a sub-theme: An appraisal of strategies towards Ebola outbreak, prevention and control in FCT.
“This unique celebration is a special opportunity used by medical doctors and dentists in Nigeria to appraise the developments in the medical profession and the health sector broadly,’’ it said.
Other events slated for the event included press conferences, medical outreach/mission in rural communities and workshops.
The association would sensitise the populace on different health issues and provide free medical checkups in all states of the Federation and FCT. (NAN)
