ABUJA – The president of the Nigeria Orthopaedic Association, Dr Mike Ogirima; former Minister of Health, Dr Onyebuchi Chukwu; Miss Health Nigeria, Queen Rita Chinedu and other health practitioners on Friday pledged to support the existing efforts put in place to improve the health care system in Nigeria after an intensive three-day conference on trauma care in Nigeria.
Ogirima, in an address to the members of the association shared NOA’s thoughts and aspirations on how to strengthen trauma care in the country.
The conference had presentations from medical doctors on how to improve trauma care in Nigeria.
Chukwu, on his part, also shared some challenges facing the healthcare system in Nigeria. He advised the current minister of health to focus more on primary healthcare.
Queen Rita Chinedu rounded it up by sharing how ineffective attention to trauma care kills thousands of Nigerians and she also added that the Federal Government and The Senate should focus more on improving the Healthcare in Nigeria.
She congratulated the Nigeria Orthopedic Association, Nigeria Medical Association, Ministry of Health, National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) , National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) and other health organisations that are supporting in providing better healthcare to Nigerians.
