Abuja – The management of the Nigeria National League (NNL) on Tuesday urged clubs who are indebted to the league to pay before July 21 or risk being excluded from the competition.
In a statement in Abuja by the league’s Secretary, Lawrence Katken, the league body urged clubs to do the needful before the deadline.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the NNL board had at a meeting last week warned that severe sanctions would be meted to clubs owing the league.
Katken also called on clubs which were yet to complete the payment for the league’s match balls to do so or forget participating in the second phase of the league.
“The payment became necessary as the money will be used to procure the balls to be used in the second stanza of the league beginning on July 25,’’ he said.
The secretary therefore warned that erring clubs would risk forfeiting their points to their opponents.(NAN)
