NOIPolls Limited, a leading country-specific polling services provider in West Africa has been honoured at the third edition of the PAN-AFRICAN DISTINGUISHED ACHIEVERS AWARD (PADAA) organized by Independent African Journalists and Broadcasters in Accra, Ghana recently.
The award recognised NOIPolls based on its credible track record, organisational transparency, transformation, accountability, as well as pragmatic leadership on the use of opinion research and data on variety of social and economic issues which has greatly impacted the West African sub region.
The company, which was honoured along with 23 other distinguished African personalities, was named “West Africa’s No.1 Opinion Polling and Research Company”.
It was presented with a certificate, a medal and a plaque with a citation recognizing the its excellent service delivery in the provision of much needed evidence based data used to support research and policy formulation in West Africa as well as its exhibition of transparency in the methodology employed in the gathering of opinions in the sub region.
Receiving the award on behalf of the company, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NOIPolls, Ms. Oge Funlola Modie thanked the organizers of the awards for the recognition and urged the people of Africa to be innovative and embrace the use of evidence based research in order to tackle the challenges being faced by the continent.
The rest of the awards category recognized efforts of Africans for the promotion of education development in Africa, youth and women empowerment in Africa, entertainment and culture promotion through movies and exemplary acts of philanthropy for the sake of Africa`s future.
Some of the notable awardees of the PADAA include: Mr Kwesi Pratt Jnr., the Managing Editor of The Insight, who is Ghana’s longest serving radio panellist and once the official publicist/spokesperson for the President John Atta-Mills administration, he received the Pan-African Distinguished Achievers Award (PADAA) for his unrelenting efforts in the promotion of the African liberation struggle as well as his unflinching resolve to ensure that the truth is always told to the Ghanaian public; Chief Dr. Shiekh Bamaiyi Ismail Abubakar, Leader of Council of Ulama who was recently conferred a Doctor of Human Letters Award by the prestigious European-American University (he was honoured for the exemplary role he has played in ensuring peaceful co-existence amongst people of different religion in West Africa); Alhaji Bashir Baba Zaria, DYNA Oil & Gas Ghana/Nigeria;
Others include a prominent Nigerian traditional ruler in Ghana His Royal Highness Eze Kennedy Ginikanwa Obi who is the leader of Nigerians living in Nkwantanang/Madina, Adentan, and Ga East Municipalities of Ghana who is well noted for his advocacy for peace across West Africa and for his philanthropic activities in Ghana; Chief of Nungua, Dzaastse Nii Botwe Laryea II; Dr. Mouktar I. Maccido an astute educationist and public administrator and current Provost of The Federal College of Education, Zaria; Comrade Bobboi Bala Kaigama, President of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria; the Nigerian Interior Minister, Comrade Abba Moro among others.
Mr Boniface Abraham, chairman of the Awards committee, noted that the award recipients were honoured for their commitment and selfless efforts towards the promotion of Pan-Africanism, good governance and leadership, unity, peace and development, patriotism and nationalism in making the African continent a better place.
