Akure – The Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) has urged players of Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure to remain focused in spite of the team’s position on the league table.
John Ola Mafo, the Chairman of the club said this on Friday in Akure, during a visit to the players’ camp before their departure to Warri ahead of the week 17 match of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) against Warri Wolves.
Mafo stressed the need for the players to remain focused and keep the flag flying.
According to him, the players should be focused and ensure they maintain the tempo after the defeat of Rangers Intl’ FC of Enugu in a week 16 encounter.
“You won a very difficult match and I hope you will continue from there as we face Warri Wolves in our next match,’’ he said.
Mafo, a former Commissioner for Information, Youth Development and Sports also urged the players and management of the team to put God first in all their endeavours.
The ODSFA boss also used the occasion to reward the players for the win over Rangers as a motivation for the tie against Warri Wolves.
Captain of the team, Abe Sunday who commended the ODSFA boss on behalf of other players assured that the club would remain resolute in its bid to achieve the set targets for the season. (NAN)
