Abakaliki – The Ebonyi Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Wednesday in Abakaliki, paraded two suspected pipeline vandals.
The Commandant, Mr Shuayb Jubril, told newsmen that the suspects were arrested while vandalising pipelines in Ivo Local Government Area of the state.
He said that the suspects, Ifeanyi Chukwu, 29 and Nkem Ndike also 29, would be charged to court immediately the NSCDC conclude investigations on the matter.

“We have intensified efforts to arrest and prosecute anyone found culpable of vandalising pipelines and other installations,” he said.
Jubril said that stoppage of pipelines vandalism was one of the corps’ mandate, as several pipelines pass through Ebonyi.
“We took the suspects to the village head and he confirmed that they are the ones terrorising the community especially in the area of vandalism.
“We recovered four motorcycles, eight jerry-cans among others items from them,” he said.
The suspects said they went into the crime because of poverty. (NAN)
