Damaturu – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Yobe Command, has reiterated its readiness for hitch- free election in the state.
The State Commandant, Mr Ayinla Olowo, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Damaturu, on Friday.
“In spite of the fact that the elections were extended by one week, which has directly or indirectly affected various arrangements, the command is set once again for the exercise.
“Though, it is not easy for many people to embark on long distance travel again to carry out their civic responsibilities, we want them to see it as a national sacrifice,’’ Olowo said.
He therefore, urged Nigerians to go out freely and vote for the candidates of their choice, as the command was ready to protect lives and property.
Olowo said the NSCDC was committed to ensuring an enabling atmosphere where everybody would vote and the votes would count without rancour.
