Andekin who stated this on Thursday in Lafia in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said all the affected officers had been trained on their responsibilities during the polls.
Andekin said besides the electoral duties, the corps would also carry out its constitutional role of safeguarding public assets against vandalism during the period.
He said the corps would be working in synergy with other security agencies to ensure a peaceful election in the state.
Andekin expressed optimism that the polls would be rancour-free and urged Nigerians to work collectively towards achieving that goal.
“We do not have another country, if we choose to destroy Nigeria for the sake of election, posterity will judge us,“Andekin said.
He appealed to parents to caution their wards against being lured into violence by politicians for selfish interest. (NAN)
