LAGOS – Investors on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday staked N2.73 billion on 273.435 million shares traded in 4,188 deals.
The volume of transaction represented 39.52 per cent increase over the 195.99 million shares worth N2.80 billion traded in 4,876 deals on Wednesday.
Unity Bank emerged the most traded stock at the day’s activity, accounting for 30.51 million shares valued at N15.25 million.
Transcorp came second with 23.04 million shares worth N137.20 million, while Diamond Bank shares totaling 23.02 million were sold at N143.84 million.
Cornerst traded 17.68 million shares worth N8.84 million, while Zenith Bank exchanged a total of 17.18 million shares at N418.74 million.
However, the All-Share Index depreciated by 46.04 points or 0.11 per cent to close at 40,683.45 as against 40,729.49 points achieved on Wednesday.
Similarly, the market capitalisation dropped by N15 billion or 0.11 per cent from N13.45 trillion recorded on Wednesday to N13.43 trillion. [eap_ad_1] Seplat led the losers’ chart by N23 to close at N652 per share.
Dangote Cement trailed with a loss of N2 to close at N220, while PZ Cussons dropped 9k to close at N34.08 per share.
Ashaka Cement depreciated by 38k to close at N32.1 and SCOA dipped 24k to close at N4.67 per share.
Conversely, Guinness recorded the highest price gain of N5.88 to close at N176.88 per share.
It was followed by Unilever, which gained N2.41 and closed at N50.61, while Forte Oil appreciated by N2 to close at N220 per share.
Nigerian Breweries chalked up N1.7 to close at N177.75, while Lafarge Wapco rose by N1.15 to close at N124.9 per share. (NAN)
