LAGOS – Investors on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Monday staked N4.37 billion on 314.108 million shares in 4,027 deals.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the volume of transactions represented 6.96 per cent increase over the 293.666 million shares worth N3.50 billion traded in 4,107 deals on Friday.
Sterling Bank emerged the most traded equity, accounting for 108.31 million shares valued at N260.32 million.
GTBank came second on the activity with 60.78 million shares worth N1.46 billion, while FBN Holdings accounted for 33.17 million shares valued N298.43 million.
Transcorp traded 14.46 million shares worth N55.16 million, while Zenith Bank exchanged a total of 10.76 million shares valued at N199.08 million.
However, the NSE All-Share Index dropped 152.58 points or 0.46 per cent to close at 33,075.71 as against the 33,228.29 achieved on Friday.
Similarly, the market capitalisation dipped by N51 billion or 0.46 per cent to close at N10.919 trillion from the N10.970 trillion posted on Friday.
Total Oil led the losers’ chart by N4.5 to close at N157.5 per share.
Guinness trailed with a loss of N4.06 to close at N145, while PZ Cussons dropped N1.9 to close at N29.99 per share.
Seplat depreciated by N1.15 to close at N378.85 and Stanbic IBTC dipped N1 to close at N29 per share.
Conversely, Forte Oil recorded the highest price gain of N11.19 to close at N235.18 per share.
It was followed by Mobil Oil, which gained N2 to close at N167 per share.
ETI appreciated by 4k to close at N18, while Vitafoam and Eterna Oil improved by 11k each to close at N4 and N3.11 per share respectively. (NAN)
