Lagos- Transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) ended on Thursday on a downward note, with the market capitalisation depreciating marginally by 0.24 per cent, as major stocks recorded price losses.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the market capitalisation lost N27 billion to close at N10.952 trillion, from the N10.979 trillion recorded on Wednesday.

Also, the All-Share Index, which opened at 33,255.67 dropped by 79.89 points, to close at 33,175.78.

Seplat led the losers’ chart by N17.11, to close at N380 per share.

Presco depreciated by N1.49 to close at N28.34, while GTBank lost 90k to close at N23.12 per share.

Oando Oil and UACN dipped by 60k each, to close at N19.40 and N41.40 per share, respectively.

On the other hand, Ashaka Cement led the gainers’ chart by N2.28, to close at N24.58 per share.

Nestle gained N1.90 to close at N800, while Stanbic IBTC Bank grew by N1.40, to close at N29.93 per share.

Betaglas appreciated by N1.10, to close at N23.15, while International Breweries chalked up 99k, to closed at N26 per share.

ETI emerged as the most-traded stock, accounting for 167.17 million shares worth N3.30 billion in 64 deals.

GTBank exchanged 51.07 million shares valued at N1.24 billion in 324 deals, while FBN Holdings sold 40.83 million shares worth N371.99 million transacted in 670 deals.

In all, investors exchanged a total of 541.493 million shares worth N7.69 billion in 4,198 deals.

This was against the 258.750 million shares valued at N4.79 billion traded in 3,965 deals on Wednesday. (NAN)
