“We conducted trials for players before the Games in Congo-Brazzaville. We used the results from the trials to select the players.
“They exhibited the zeal to deliver and we have decided to give them a chance to prove themselves.
“I believe in their abilities that they will deliver in India. They are good players who know what they are doing.
“I am sure they know it’s a big privilege going to represent their country and I believe they will give a good account of themselves,’’ he said.
Bankole, who is also an ACP with the Nigeria Force, told NAN that the federation was working hard at strengthening the national team by injecting and exposing more players to international competitions.
“We don’t want to be limited to the recycling of players. We want to have as many players as possible and be able to blend them appropriately for future competitions.
“What we are doing now is to develop more new players and give them the exposure needed,’’ the ACP added. (NAN)
